Spending Time With Your Teen

If you think your adolescent, teen or even young adult child doesn't appreciate spending time with their parents...you're dead wrong! I know, I know. We all think they'd rather be with their friends and sometimes they do. But, they also want to know you will make time to be with them. We don't get "do-overs" as parents. This is it and each day is your chance to get to know your child better.If you take the time to learn what your teens like, it gives you something more to talk about with them. My son likes to rap and I really didn't know if he was any good and I couldn't understand half of it. I started listening to the Hip-Hop, Rap station and realized he was actually quite good. Now we can talk about rhyming and rap and performing. I'll also say, the best conversations I've ever had with my children happened while we were doing another activity.
